How Long Is SPRAWL zero? Campaign Length by Playstyle
The numbers
| Source | Length | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Jake Kwalee (publisher), Steam forum | ”Around 8 - 10 hrs!” | Official answer to “How long is the game?” |
| Player “Elo Terrorist”, Steam forum | 10 hours | Martyr difficulty; “can be done probably much faster” |
| Player “lb”, Steam forum | About 5 hours | Normal difficulty |
| Under The Mayo review | ”Probably 7 or 8 hour campaign” | First playthrough |
| TheReviewGeek review | 30–50 minutes per level | Up to 1 hour 15 for some levels when dying or collecting |
With 11 levels, 30 to 50 minutes each works out at 5.5 to 9 hours, which fits the range above.
What makes it longer
- Difficulty. Martyr doubles enemy damage (Under The Mayo), and players finishing on it report about twice the normal time. See difficulty.
- Collectibles. There is no per-level tracker and the Completion medals are all under 1%, so a 100% run takes much longer. See collectibles.
- Getting lost. Two reviewers say the city areas look alike; press the objective key (Alt on keyboard, down on the D-pad) to bring the marker back.
- New Game Plus. The remixed second run is where Under The Mayo says the game “clicked”. It adds another full campaign. See New Game Plus.
Is that short for $24.99?
Before launch a developer said the campaign length is “comparable to similar AAA genre games of the 2000s era”, which is the era the game copies. With New Game Plus, 11 modifiers and 61 achievements, completionists will play well past 10 hours. Price details are in editions and bundles.
